We all run late occasionally, whether it’s running late for public transport or showing up late to a meeting. But what happens when you are late with your monthly bills?
According to Experian, if you are late on a payment, you could have two outcomes.
- A report may get added to your credit file stating that you are behind on your payments and late fees are added to your balance.
- Any late payments that are more than 30 days are normally added to your credit file and that note lasts for seven years. This can have a negative impact on your credit score and possibly negatively impact future borrowing.
